sarahSarah Krueger - Outreach Director
sarah@wwta.org

Sarah enjoys exploring Washington's waters and sharing her passion for shoreline preservation. With WWTA since the summer of 2004, she handles publications, events, and dabbles in water trail planning, stewardship, and advocacy. A Leave No Trace Master Educator, Sarah co-facilitates WWTA's annual Trainer Course and helps coordinate the Sound Education and Action (SEA) Kayaker Program. If she doesn't have a paddle or a pen in her hand, Sarah might be gardening, hiking, bicycling, or playing naturalist with her binoculars and field guides. She is a graduate of Warren Wilson College near Asheville, North Carolina, where she earned a BA with the self-created major of Environmental Writing.

Amy Popp - Membership and Office Manager
amy@wwta.org

Though she is relatively new to Washington, Amy's love for the state is as deep as its bordering waters. Amy loves the outdoors, particularly trails, which she's extensively explored by land. This last summer, for example, you would have found Amy running a whopping 26.2 miles through the Alaskan wilderness dodging moose, bears, and mosquitoes, 'oh, my!' She is a graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio where she earned a degree in History and spent most of her time rowing at Stroud's Run State Park with the Ohio University Women's Crew team. In addition to running and hiking Amy enjoys, reading, biking, watching Jeopardy and being in, on, and around the water. She is very excited to begin exploring Washington's water trails!

Emily

Emily Slotnick-Community Involvement Coordinator
emily@wwta.org

Emily just recently left her native shores of Massachusetts to explore a new coastline here in Seattle.  Whether she is on top of the water or under it, in a boat or a wetsuit, Emily is a lover of all things marine and has spent many a summer working and playing on boats in and around Buzzards Bay.  Off the water, she has been known to dabble in other forms of outdoor entertainment such as (but not limited to) biking, snowboarding, traveling, hiking, and playing tennis.  Emily is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she studied Philosophy and captained the university’s Women’s Ice Hockey team.  Last year, she worked at Mt. Snow in Vermont, interned for a non-profit waterfront development group in Boston, and completed a summer program in Urban Planning at Harvard.  Emily, who joines WWTA as an Americorps volunteer, is enthused to broaden her sea-going experiences and to get engaged in the planning and management of Washington’s waterways.

Reed Waite - Senior Volunteer Staff
reed.vol@wwta.org

Since 2000 Reed has worked to improve public access, extend water trails, increase the number of Cascadia Marine Trail facilities, and represent WWTA at events of national significance. In his eighth year of service he's planning an international water trails conference to be held at Fort Worden State Park in September 2008.

Before coming to WWTA, Reed had a varied career: bicycles, parks, and for profit and non-profit food related industries.

He loves to confound people by having them try to pronounce where he learned to sail: on Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg in Massachusetts. He has spent many happy days and nights on many types of boats.
