The safety barrier above Rock Island Dam broke when high water pused a large snagged tree through the three-quarter-inch steel cable late May. The cable held a series of floats and marks the restricted zone above the dam boaters must avoid. Boaters are urged to take precautions to protect themselves in the event of an accident or mechanical failure. Contact Chelan County PUD for updates.
Events
On July 19 you can paddle dragon boats at the the Pateros Apple Pie Jamboree. You don't need a boat, only friends willing to to pull for victory. Each team is guaranteed at least 3 - 250 yard timed races. More Details (pdf).

GCWT Steering Committee Meetings
Meetings are scheduled for the first Monday of each month. There will be no meetings during summer months 2008. Check the WWTA calendar for times and locations.
