We are pleased to announce that the Washington State Trails Coalition 2008 Conference held at the Spokane Convention Center on October 3rd and 4th was well received!  To those that attended, presented, and volunteered, thank you for making this one of our best conferences ever!!!

Washington State Trails Coalition

Founded in 1999, the Washington State Trails Coalition works to protect, promote and enhance a statewide system of trails.  Our efforts target both motorized and non-motorized outdoor recreation and transportation trails. We work through voluntary and public involvement in cooperation with landowners and managers.  Membership is open to anyone with at passion for trails.

WSTC’s focus is the organization of a bi-annual state trails conference.  The 2009-2010 directors are: Rick Hood (President), Pete Beaupain (Vice President), Greg Lovelady (Recorder), Reed Waite (Comptroller), Elizabeth Lunney (Past President), Louis Musso, Sharon Grant, and Jeff Chapman.

Trails for Future Generations

Over 200 people attended Trails for Future Generations, the 2006 Washington State Trails Conference in Yakima, Washington.  The conference had three tracks: Urban Trails, Activism & Outreach, and Funding.  Plenary session topics included "Heads of State: Building Trails for Future Generations" and "The State Legislature & Trails: Policy and Money."  Award-winning author Jeff Rennicke provided the keynote address, "Growing Up Wild."  Conference attendees also enjoyed evening entertainment and guided field education.
