Robert Nissenbaum Presents “Euro vs Greenland Style Paddle” (Hybrid)

Euro blade vs Greenland Paddle

This will be a 2 part class with a hybrid classroom based portion (I highly recommend you attend to get the most out of the discussion) followed by an on-water session to experiment with and practice (with coaching) what you’ve learned.

The class will cover the physics behind the forward stroke for each balde – how each generates power and the proper stroke form to take advantage of how the blades work. We’ll also look at how the physics affects sweeps, draws, prys, and bracing.

We’ll cover proper sizing and blade selection and advantages and disadvantages of each.

For the on water portion, wood and carbon fiber Greenland paddles will be available in a variety of lengths to demo.

This will be held at the Good Shepherd Center on the first (bottom) floor in the Wallingford Community Senior Center. Enter on the lower level.

There will be pizza available at 5:30pm. Feel free to bring an appetizer.
