Join us for a trip around Iceland with Nigel Foster and preview his new book!

This will also be our end-of-year holiday party; we will bring a turkey dish and ask that you bring a side dish and/or holiday cookies. We will vote and have a prize for the best cookies!

There will be a few silent auction items left over from our membership drive, including Exped.

We will provide a bit of wine, but also feel free to bring your favorite beverage.

Nigel Foster and Geoff Hunter set off on a shoestring adventure in 1977, to explore a country of just 222,000 people. Hear Nigel tell the story of the First Circumnavigation of Iceland by Kayak, and how such an expedition came about. Rewind to a time before dry suits, cellphones, the home computer, and the World Wide Web, twenty years before Google came onto the scene. With no hand-held waterproof VHF radios, or GPS, with no way to remotely access a weather forecast, is anyone for curried seagull? Nigel’s presentation expands on some of the stories he tells in his newly released, 2023 book, Iceland by Kayak.
